How the factory's cabinets beat the local woodshop's

  1. Warranties of up to 25 years on cabinets, accessories, workmanship and internal hardware.
  2. Controlled environment the yields more stable wood, which reduces warping and splitting later.
  3. Computerized cutting tools that offer more precise joinery than anything done by hand.
  4. Baked-on finishes that are more durable than local guy's air dried ones. Dust-free finishing rooms also provide a smooth-as-glass surface.

Starmark, Mid Continent and 6 Square offer a limited lifetime warranty on all cabinetry. Superior cabinetry with piece of mind that it will stay that way.

Are you a licensed contractor?

That should be one of the first questions you ask any firm that you are considering to work on your home.

Since the downturn in new housing, many cabinet dealers have magically become kitchen remodelers.  There is a reason why contractors go through rigorous testing and need to meet certain criteria in order to become a licensed contractor in NC. The state does this to protect your interest.  An unlicensed contractor does not have the knowledge or expertise to remodel your kitchen and can just walk away if things go wrong.  Leaving you with an unfinished job and a task of hiring someone else to pick up where they left off.  Choosing a licensed contractor offers you the peace of mind knowing that things will be done correctly and if a situation does arise, it will be handled professionally.

What other benefits are there to using a licensed contractor over a non-licensed contractor?

-Licensed contractors in North Carolina meet or exceed state requirements in order to become licensed in the first place.
-The N.C. State Licensing Board holds licensed contractors accountable for all the work they do.
-Licensed contractors have liability and worker’s compensation insurance. This will protect you, the homeowner, in the event someone is injured or damage is done while performing the renovations in your home.
-Only licensed contractors can obtain permits. Unlicensed contractors cannot.
-If anything goes wrong with your home renovations, the state has a recovery/reimbursement fund that will cover homeowners that used only licensed contractors to do the work.
